The Wacousta Farmers Market began in 2012 with the idea of creating a place where the community could purchase locally grown food and other items. It is held on the grounds of Wacousta Community United Methodist Church, 9180 W. Herbison Road, Eagle, MI.

Our goal is to also create a space where local farmers and entrepenuers can introduce their products to the community.  Since it is a monthly market, we decided toinvite local non-profits and local musicians to participate as well.  Each market is organized around a theme and a few vendors are always on hand to serve dinner. To accommodate the diners, we set up tables and chairs under the tall spruce trees on our property. The result is "the farmers market with the block party flair."

Our vibrant market attracts more than 500 visitors at each event. To accommodate these crowds, we have arranged for overflow parking at the Wacousta Elementary School, located directly across the street.  We reserve our closest parking for senior citizens and those with handicap stickers.

We also provide a Welcome Center at each market.  There, you can get information on the market and you can also leave your bike or your purchases for safe keeping.

This market is run by a dedicated volunteer committee lead by Laura Foreback, Market Manager, who is also a volunteer.  You can reach Laura at wacoustafarmersmarket@gmail.com

In 2016 the market dates are:

Thursday, July 21 4 to 8 p.m. - Dog Days of Summer
Thursday, Aug. 18 4 to 8 p.m. - Happy 150th Birthday WCUMC
Thursday, Sept. 15 4 to 8 p.m. - Celtic Fun with the Glen Erin Pipe and Drum Band and Lansing Highland Dancers

Vendor Information

Wacousta Farmers Market is an established market with solid community support and engagement. Our bustling, once a month Thursday market is attended by more than 500 people.

Shoppers come and often stay for an hour or more to shop, listen to music and eat dinner. The market's ratio of buyers and sellers promotes both a quality shopping experience for our patrons and profitability for our vendors.

Vendor spots still open!

Consider applying to become a Wacousta Farmers Market vendor.  We are especially interested in those with locally grown or produced food products, plants or craft items.  An application and vendor rules are found at the links below.

You can find the Vendor Application here.
You can find the  Vendor Rules here.

If you plan to sell baked goods or other prepared food items, we require you comply with the rules of the Michigan Cottage Food Law or some other licensing option under the rules of the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
